Hilarity Grading...

Wow, I have been overwhelmed A LOT as a 1st year (K-12) teacher; I thought four years teaching college made me semi-seasoned; to be honest, it has been harder than ANYTHING I ever imagined teaching kindergarten could ever be! I would NEVER wish it on my worst enemy...or would I? (insert diabolical laugh here)
                                 

Some days  you literally just have to laugh to keep from crying; so tonight while grading kindergarten writing assessments, I will crack up...

5-6 year old Mr. Britt shared: "I lost my tablet and my superman toy. the setting was et my kuzin home. and I have to sit in my rum duwing nuding. then I got in Chrubol for luzing my tabet. then my mom diet let me go out side. then I got a nuder wuben. fidalley my mom stop wuben me. then I wet to the park after my mom stop."



5-6 year old Mr. Williams shared that when he lost something, he..."...prade to snta to get me anther one."


Happy Monday to me! I will NEVER forget this journey in patience & have taken away a lot of joy from these kids, regardless of my unsuitability to work with children this young ;)

Musical Healing (My Praying)...

If you have become hardened to Biblical or religious hypocrisies in general (btw, that is humans tainting it-not deities & spirits)... If you can't focus (due to deep anguish, anxiety, depression, etc...) to work, rest, read a self health article, much less a book... If you have talked to your friends and family so much about the same shit and now feel like a burden... Sometimes only music can help/ save you!  Last fall 2019, I took my life back! I "asserted" myself as a woman to an "extreme" sense for me; it was possibly just a Tuesday/ Saturday for some of my less stifled friends (lol-E makes me think of our convos)... I would lay on the couch, in the tub (poor Shelly & D.W., lol-sorry yall: #friendslikefamily), just staring... zoned tf out. I would try to fill the pain and confusion with noise. Noise though does not have to come from speaking... I saw other friends healing from their shit... Why couldn't I? I could not focus. I could not fathom be...

Manifestation...

I have an acquaintance who I met on Instagram. She is inspiring and literally "Pushes Through" everything :)! In fact, she even created a mantra about it and has gone world-wide with her message. It started out in her classroom. I even taught it to my students a couple of years. She did it for a GAP kids commercial, with the Philadelphia Eagles, and on the news once with Michael Strahan.  Now, she travels the globe giving speeches. I saw recently she had given a TedX Talk in Dover, Delaware ( A TEDx Talk is a showcase for speakers presenting great, well-formed ideas in under 18 minutes ).  I said to myself, I will manifest that one day for myself-giving a Ted Talk. The college I am an English Professor for (TSU-in Nashville) emailed all staff and students about a Virtual Honor's College T.E.D.
